Scholarship
Application
Guidelines:
The
McHenry County Retired Teachers Association
scholarship will
be awarded to a McHenry County
resident public high school senior or a
McHenry County
College freshman to
recognize her/his
scholastic abilities, community contributions
and commitment
to a curriculum leading to a
degree in education. This is a $1000 one-time
scholarship to
be awarded after the successful completion of
one
college semester. At least three scholarships will be
awarded each year. Applicant
must have 2 letters of recommendation -
one from
school personnel and at least one from
someone familiar with the applicant's out-of-school
participation
in the community.
Application
procedure:
1.
Complete application form as directed.
2.
Obtain at least 2 letters of
recommendation
as described in Guidelines.
3.
Return
completed application and recommendations
to your school
counselor by April 9, 2010.
The
counselor must return the completed application and
recommendations plus your
current
transcript to the Scholarship Chairperson of
McHenry
County Retired Teachers
Association no later than
the postmarked
date of
April
16, 2010.
4.
Scholarship
award(s) will be presented at the high school Honors
Assembly or personally to
the McHenry County College student.
5.
Each winner
of a scholarship and a guest will be invited to the June
meetingg
of the McHenry
County Retired Teachers Association.
